Brea Baker is the author of "ROOTED" and has spent over a decade working on the front lines. She is passionate about nuanced storytelling and Black culture as catalysts for change, having shared her on race, gender, and sexuality in publications like Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Refinery29. Her work appears in anthologies such as Our History Has Always Been Contraband and No Justice, No Peace. A Yale alumna, Baker has received accolades including Glamour's 2017 Woman of the Year, a 2019 i-D Up + Rising recognition, and the 2023 Creative Capital award. She has delivered talks at venues including the United Nations’ Girl Up Initiative, Yale Law School, and the of the City of New York.

Patricia is a licensed professional counselor. She is a devoted mother and grandmother. She has devoted her career to inspiring and empowering others. She holds advance degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Human Services, She operates Women Empowered Enrichment and Counseling Services, LLC. Apart from her accomplishments, Patricia enjoys decorating and DIY projects and spending time with family. Her promise of self-improvement and community support sparks through her writing. Her novel "How to Build Healthy Self-Esteem and Confidence" has helped women with their worth and gave practical tools to build their confidence.
